Section 3 - Hazards Identification

Appearance: clear slightly yellow solid or liquid. Flash Point: 82 deg C.
Warning! Causes severe eye irritation. Causes respiratory tract irritation. Harmful if inhaled. Causes skin irritation. May be harmful if swallowed. Light sensitive. Air sensitive. Potential Health Effects
Eye: Causes severe eye irritation. Undiluted guaiacol was severely injurious to eyes of rabbits, 1 drop causing severe corneal necrosis and severe injury to conjunctival membranes.
Skin: Causes skin irritation. Prolonged skin contact may cause injury especially if the skin is abraded. Substance is readily absorbed through the skin.
Ingestion: Causes gastrointestinal irritation with nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. May be harmful if swallowed.

Section 4 - First Aid Measures

Eyes: In case of contact, immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for a t least 15 minutes. Get medical aid immediately.
Skin: In case of contact, immediately flush skin with plenty of water. Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. Get medical aid. Wash clothing before reuse.
Ingestion: If swallowed, do not induce vomiting unless directed to do so by medical personnel. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Get medical aid.

Section 6 - Accidental Release Measures

General Information: Use proper personal protective equipment as indicated in Section 8.
Spills/Leaks: Absorb spill with inert material (e.g. vermiculite, sand or earth), then place in suitable container. Clean up spills immediately, observing precautions in the Protective Equipment section. Scoop up with a nonsparking tool, then place into a suitable container for disposal.
